Becoming a lecturer

If you're skilled, passionate and qualified to at least Level 3 in your area of expertise, teaching might be for you.

Becoming an Assessor

This is an excellent opportunity to change direction in your career and train to become an Assessor.

As well as having an interest in helping people develop, a good assessor has a lot of patience, can write accurate reports and is good at keeping records up to date

Which qualifications do I need?

You can study for teaching qualifications whilst lecturing, however you must be qualified to at least Level 3 in your area of expertise - Level 4 for professional and academic subjects.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Formerly PTLLS) is an introductory course. You can take it before you start teaching, or shortly after.

You can follow it up with a Diploma qualification which can lead you to qualified teacher status.
