We are delighted to be providing apprenticeships for Q-Care, an award winning domiciliary care provider, new to Bracknell Forest.

Q-Care’s services range from occasional companionship visits to 24hr daily care to allow people to live with dignity and independence in the comfort of their own home. In 2016 Q-Care won the Investors in People Gold award.

The government introduced the apprenticeships levy in May this year which requires all employers in the UK with an annual wage bill of over £3 million to pay 0.5% of it towards funding apprenticeships. The money is being invested in quality training for apprentices and there is no upper age limit for becoming an apprentice.

Robert Ramsaha-Southall, Q-Care’s Operations Director, commented:

“We will be requiring 50 members of staff and training facilities and to help furnish these needs we came straight to Bracknell & Wokingham College for assistance.

We have found the college staff to be extremely helpful and welcoming. The facilities with both the main campus and at Waingels is excellent, and as a result we have not had to create our own manual handling training suite and training room.”

“The college is also assisting us with apprentices, including steering us through the rules of employing apprentices. The local authority and the College clearly have a good relationship and we at Q Care are looking forward to working in partnership with the College for years to come.”

He also commented that there are a variety of relevant domiciliary care courses already in place for them to access and there is the option of developing ad hoc courses to meet Q-Care’s requirements.

Sarah Bradshaw, Business Development Manager said:

“Q-Care are another example of an employer recognising the benefits of apprenticeships to their business. We have been working with Q-Care for a number of months to support them with their recruitment process and training.

Apprenticeships offer individuals the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification whilst earning. This in turn ensures that staff are suitably qualified to work within their organisation and in line with sector quality standards”.
