Gulf War General Wishes College students “Best of luck!”
Bracknell & Wokingham College Principal, Campbell Christie CBE served in the Royal Navy for 27 years before taking up his post as College Principal in 2011. During Gulf War 1 he worked on General Sir Peter de la Billiere’s staff in the British Headquarters in Saudi Arabia.
The General has sent the College’s Uniformed Public Services students a morale boosting ‘Best of luck’ message pending their exams:
"Your Principal has told me about the Uniformed Public Services course that you are taking at Bracknell & Wokingham College and how well you are all doing. I must say it sounds like a great preparation for life in the military, the emergency services or actually for pretty much any walk of life. The confidence, teamwork, self-discipline and other soft skills that you will be picking up on your course are just what I would have been looking for in the military personnel and MOD civil servants that worked for me. These are employability skills that will help you stand out from the crowd and will be of great interest to any future employer. Best of luck!"
Peter de la Billiere
