Harmony students offer beauty treatments to help the community.

30 March 2016

On the 12th of February 2016, Students from the Bracknell and Wokingham College visited ‘Wild Acres’ residential care home, offering treatments such as hand massages and manicures to the elderly residents. Students shared experiences and stories with the residents whilst offering them complimentary treatments.

The trip gave the learners invaluable experience working with a vulnerable group of people, teaching the students how to adapt treatments and interactions to different types of clients. The learners thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories and chatting to the residents whilst treating them to a beauty session.

The ‘Harmony’ salon and hair and beauty division of the Bracknell and Wokingham College continue to raise money and help the community, visiting HP on the 4th of February and performing treatments to staff members. Staff offered various beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures, hand massages and many others. The session raised £170 for the Alexander Divine Trust, a local children’s hospice charity. HP has raised over £15000 for the charity and the college offer their support in helping to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
