Visitors at the business breakfast

Bracknell’s MP, Dr Phillip Lee, joined college Principal Campbell Christie CBE to co-host a successful Business Breakfast at Bracknell & Wokingham College.  Breakfast guests were the senior leaders from some of the region’s largest corporate businesses.

The breakfast was designed to let these business leaders know how they could work with the college to provide a secure pipe-line of skilled individuals for their business.

Key themes were the wrap-around ‘Work Ready’ employability skills with which all college students are supported.  These skills make them stand out from the crowd when seeking a job.  The college’s success in delivering Apprenticeships and Higher Apprenticeships and finally, the colleges desire to offer an even wider range of local Higher Education courses as an alternative to leaving home to study at University.

Dr Lee praised the work that the college is doing to support local employment and applauded the way in which the college was supporting local businesses by identifying and then delivering their skills needs.

Principal Campbell Christie said: ” We take our local accountability very seriously and this is why I am proud to be able to host such a senior level breakfast today where we can truly demonstrate how we play our part ‘In the Heart of our Community’.”
