Viva Las Vegas!

06 October 2014

Our Travel & tourism students finished off a year’s fundraising in style with a Las Vegas themed party!

The night raised a whopping £1700 for HeartBeat Support Woking, who also attended the evening.

‘Viva Las Vegas’ treated its guests to a fun-money casino – a mini-cruise to Spain up for grabs for the biggest winner – and a cabaret performance by Dare2Dream, a group of the college’s performing arts students.

Finally a surprise guest appearance left party-goers “all shook up” with excitement!

The night was the students’ final push for charity money after a year of raffles, cake sales and silent auctions, as well as organising the college pantomime in December 2009.

Louise Gigg, Travel & tourism lecturer, said:

“This year’s event team were fantastic. They were a really strong, committed group and thehuge amount they raised was testament to their efforts.

“The team would like to express their thanks to Simon Everitt from Ascot Travel House, Stuart Carrington aka Elvis, Dare2Dream our college Performing Arts group, DJ Nagz and a big thank you to the Royal County Of Berkshire Health & Racquets Club for all their supportand co-operation. Not to mention everyone else who supported us and made donations."
