Guest of Honour at our Achiever Awards 2013

Kanya King MBE, CEO and founder of the MOBO Awards will be our guest of honour at the Achiever Awards 2012

We are extremely proud to have Kanya King MBE as the guest of honour and presenter at our Achiever Awards this year.

As the CEO and founder of the MOBO Awards Kanya is an internationally recognized entrepreneur and innovator in the British music industry. She is the dynamic force behind the MOBO Awards and has played an instrumental role in elevating urban music and culture to mainstream popular status in the UK and Europe.

In addition to this she has received numerous honours for her business and community achievements including an Honorary Fellowship at Goldsmiths University and a Doctorate of Business at both the London and Leeds Metropolitan Universities.

Kanya is regularly featured as one of the top 100 Black Britons as well as featuring in the Guardian top 30 ethnic minorities in media; Evening Standard’s Top 1000 Most Influential of London; and most recently Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 nominated Kanya in their 2013 power list of the top 100 most influential women in Britain.

The Achiever Awards celebrate the personal and academic achievements of the college’s students and will be held in our own sports hall on Monday 1 July 2013.

The Achiever Awards are given to students because of outstanding effort and passion for the course. As well as high achieving students, the awards also celebrate those students who have overcome adversity to excel in their particular course area.
