Graduation day

06 October 2014

Our first cohort of Foundation degree students celebrated their graduation at Winchester cathedral!

The group are the first to complete the 2-year Management course through the college.

Ellen Shirley said of her course, "I cannot find the words to describe how I felt on graduation day.

"I loved every minute of it and I was so excited and happy to be graduating.  The hardest part was concentrating on not falling up the steps when getting my certificate!  I really felt that I had made a big achievement - it was the proudest I have felt in a long time.

"I want to thank all of the staff and other students at the college for their help and support over the 2 years.  I really couldn't have done it without them."

Debbie Simmons also attended the ceremony: "I felt overcome with the sense of achievement, increased self worth and confidence.

"Thank you Winchester university and Bracknell & Wokingham College for this opportunity. I will make you proud!"

Chris Barber said of the day, "I never thought that I'd ever achieve such a qualification and would encourage anyone to go for it.

"Age shouldn't stop anyone from doing this course; you are continually learning until the day you die, or you should be. Anyone who wants it enough can do it."

Susan Thomas, Senior Lecturer in Marketing, said: "It goes without saying how proud I am of everyone.

"I realised that each of them has overcome some kind of unforseen personal challenge during the course. It's a great credit to all that they've stuck to the end in spite of their difficulties.

"I hope everyone enjoys their graduate status, and that it reaps great benefits for their personal and professional lives."
