Chinese for business training

06 October 2014

The college is playing its part to support trade between China and the Thames Valley by offering a suite of courses for business in Chinese language, cultural awareness and personal security. And the first students were Bracknell Forest Council’s employees who were preparing for the British Chamber of Commerce’s China UK Business Conference recently.

Jayne Mills, Economic Development Officer, Bracknell Forest Council said:

"Bracknell and Wokingham College provided the Chief Executive's office here at Bracknell Forest Council with some basic Mandarin and Chinese Cultural Awareness classes.

“The classes were two hours long and Lan, the tutor, was exceptionally well informed and had a warm and easy manner when delivering the lessons. After only an hour, we were speaking some basic phrases and by the end of the second session, we could all conduct a basic conversation. This was a thrill for all of us as we did not expect to have achieved so much in such a short space of time. In terms of cultural awareness, the lessons helped us to cater for our Chinese delegation guests with confidence and ease. An outstanding service.

“The College facilities were exemplary and I would highly recommend this service to businesses and potential Mandarin students in Bracknell Forest and the wider community.“

The college’s course for British businesses moving into trading with China. Preparing for Business in China is for companies wanting to learn more about Chinese language, culture and personal security in order to make the most of the opportunities that trade with China can provide.

College Principal Campbell Christie, CBE also attended the Link to China events to let potential business partners know about the wealth of learning options the college can offer.
