C&G Photography Awards Star

Our courses can take you places you never imagined! Monica Pritchard, 43, from Farnborough, was named runner up in the Level 3 category for her photo ‘Self Portrait’, after studying here. Monica’s entry was one of the top entries out of 750 images from all over the country.

Speaking about her success, Monica said: ‘My course introduced me to so many different aspects of photography and gave me the knowledge and skills I need to create the kind of images I had always aspired to. If you told me back when I enrolled that I would create an image that would come second in the City & Guilds photography competition I definitely wouldn’t have believed it – and I still can’t! Having my work recognised has really boosted my confidence and given me the drive to pursue my photography more seriously in the future. It’s really exciting to be launching our own photography business and I can’t wait to see what the future holds’.

Course manager and tutor Teresa Hamilton, said: “Monica showed a real flair and enthusiasm for the subject. It has been a pleasure to see her skill increase to the point where she is now about to start a small business in photography. I was delighted with her well-deserved success in the City & Guilds competition with the unique portrait style that she has developed”.

The prizewinning entries were exhibited at the Morley Gallery – part of Morley College in central London.

Monica and Clark thoroughly enjoyed what they learnt and since completing the course, they have decided to turn their skills into a business – see more athttp://www.monandclarkphotography.co.uk/.
