Attorney General visits college

06 October 2014

A Level students studying Politics, Law and Sociology at Bracknell & Wokingham College recently hosted a visit by The Rt Hon. Dominic Grieve QC MP. Mr Grieve has been MP for Beaconsfield since1997 and Attorney General and a Member of the Privy Council since 2010.

The students heard about Mr Grieve’s role and responsibilities in his position as Attorney General and were then able to ask him questions about current political issues including the same-sex marriage proposal, Scottish independence and the implications of the recent events in Woolwich.

Student President Alex Ruskin was one of the students involved in the visit and said:

"Today was a great opportunity to meet a Member of Parliament to get their thoughts on different upcoming or on-going issues and to gain a wider understanding of the role an Attorney General"

College Principal and CEO, Campbell Christie, CBE, added:

“The students were very appreciative of the opportunity to hear this insightful look into an area of politics that is rarely discussed and that added to their understanding of the legal system in the UK.”
