A Rewarding Saturday at college

06 October 2014

Adult students spent a fun Saturday doing a course at college recently.

There was something on offer for anyone looking to kick start 2013 by learning and developing new skills. Courses they took ranged from learning the important skills of Emergency First Aid at Work and Simple Car Maintenance, to Cooking an Authentic Indian Buffet and the relaxing Reflexology Workshop.

Carina Wagstaffe who completed the Emergency First Aid at Work course found the course highly rewarding:

“After 13 years I decided to go back to college to do the Emergency First Aid at work course. The course was really great, the teacher was so friendly and knowledgeable about the course. I would highly recommend for everyone to do the course.”

Sonya van Driel also gained a lot from her Simple Car Maintenance course:

“Very helpful and interesting – the tutor explained the basics of car maintenance which we should all know really. Also this is a hands on course and was extremely practical. Even though this is (mainly) a mother and daughter course my friend and I brought our 17 year old sons. Well worth doing.”

Indian food is now likely to be on the menu at student Dave Bell’s home as he perfected his culinary skills on the Cooking an Indian Buffet course:

“I had a great time and my tutor was lovely – very friendly and informative. I feel I can now cook Indian recipes with confidence and adjust them as required.”
