University funding cuts
Should the Government make funding cuts to
universities?
I don't understand why for the last few years the
Government have been putting money into higher education and now
they are going to cut it.
It seems peculiar to encourage people to go and then choose to
cut this sector.
I understand that the country is in recession but can't they
make the cuts somewhere else? It seems a waste of the last few
years and surely if you have a better educated country that in turn
improves the economy as a whole.

University funding should not be cut
because it would put some young people off going to university and
in the future would lower the standard of education across the
country.
This may cause a lack
of people to fill the skilled jobs and slow down advancements in
technology.
Financial issues would then lead to
people missing out on an opportunity they would otherwise have
taken and possibly waste their skills and talent.
It is not a good time to cut the
funding as there is a recession and the students unable to go to
university may not find a job and this would increase the number of
unemployed.
