South East Plan
The Government recently scrapped the
South East Plan which proposed 13,000 homes in
Bracknell.
Should there be a radical cutback in
the number of homes in Bracknell or is there an obligation to
provide housing for the next generation?
I don’t think this
cut is a good idea. People will be forced to move to other areas,
which will leave them overpopulated.
There’s no hope for us as youngsters to get a
council house, and it will result in more young families looking
for a place to live.
This cut is going against all the promises we
were given as we were growing up.

This cut will leave
Bracknell with more people living in fewer homes and therefore a
poorer standard of living.
Or, people will be forced to move either away
from their families or their jobs. This could have an negative
effect on the family structure.
There is lots of office space in Bracknell but
not enough housing. People will be forced to travel further to
work, causing more stress and costing more money. Costs of housing
and living will rise, but the situation will be worse.
