Iraq war - illegal?

Is the war in Iraq unlawful and has it ruined Blair's legacy?

I do not necessarily believe Tony Blair's 'legacy' has been damaged. However I feel the reputation of the United Kingdom as a whole has been tarnished.

We were led to war under false pretences in search of the ever-elusive 'weapons of mass destruction'. Not only this, but our troops were sent with inadequate equipment and resources to serve as a safe and efficient fighting force.

The war in Iraq is one which cannot be won. It feels like we're there to save face, and salvage some form of a reputation for the United Kingdom.
