St. Ives 2010
At the end of every year the Art department
take the BTEC National Diploma first year students on a
four day field trip to the well known
artist colony St. Ives in Cornwall.
During the trip the students visit The Tate St
Ives, The Barbara Hepworth Studio and Gardens, and
the Eden Project where they can draw, sketch and
take photographs.
They also have the chance to wander around the historical town
visiting, interviewing and talking to local
artists.

Evening activities are also arranged for the students which
include sand sculpting, night time and
sunset photography, and games!
All the work done on the trip goes towards their second year
specialised units and their final exhibition.
