Filmmakers in Manhattan
31 Media students took cameras onto the
streets of New York as part of a four day college
trip to the most filmed city in the world!
The trip included visits to the New York Film
Academy, the Museum of Moving Image,
NBC television studios, and a huge range
of locations from famous films such as
Ghostbusters and recent blockbuster I Am
Legend.
During a four-hour workshop at the Academy our
students made short films and talked to full time Academy students
and other budding filmmakers.
They also learnt production and
editing techniques to use for their
BTEC National Diploma projects.
Media student
Kayleigh Galvin said "New York was an enlightening trip! Our visit
to the Academy gave us a great insight into
scriptwriting, filming, equipment and editing. I had a
brilliant time."
"New York is like a giant film set" said Peter
Turner, Media lecturer. "To see so many famous places is an
unforgettable experience! Our students have had a unique
opportunity to film this great city for themselves."
