Students have a taste of 'The Big Apple'!
A group of 37 Travel & Tourism, Business, Sports and
Public Services students enjoyed four days in New
York, visiting the Empire State Building, Statue
of Liberty and Ground Zero.
Liz Carroll, Leisure & Tourism Senior Lecturer, said: "Field
trips allow students to experience how other countries differ
from our own. For some students, it's their
first experience of foreign travel."
Students had backstage access to attractions such as Madame
Tussauds and Madison Square Gardens. Public
Services students visited the New York Police Department
(NYPD) and the New York Fire Department (NYFD).
Public Services student Charlotte Stoddart said: "New York was a
very educational and enjoyable trip. I learnt a
lot that I can use in future assignments!"
Andrew Peterson, another Public Services student, said:
"What a great experience! The first time I went, the
World Trade Centre was still there. Now it's
gone, it's touching to see the tributes and memories
left there. New York has a great night life too -
it's the 'city that never sleeps'!"
