Panto season comes
early
Our Art & design students felt like
giants as they began designing the sets for the college’s end of
year pantomime, Jack & the beanstalk!
The students were working with
children from Holly Spring Infant and Nursery
School to design ‘The Open Road’. The Year 2 pupils will choose
their favourite images for the theme, and work together with our
students to turn them into stage scenery.
Jan Allen, Art Lecturer, said:
“When Holly Springs contacted us to ask if
our students could work with the children, we saw it as an
ideal opportunity for a community art project.
Every year we try to make sure our students take part in at
least one community project.
“The children have come
up with some wonderful pictures for
the college panto, and they will all be
invited to see the finished production
and how all their ideas have been put into
practice.”
The Performing arts department will pick the
best artwork to be combined into one giant set for
the final production!
Jack & the beanstalk will be the 2nd
pantomime in the new Church Road building, after a week-long run of
Aladdin in December 2009. Watch this space for
more productions in the summer term!
