Students win hairdressing awards

Some of our Hairdressing Apprentices recently took part in the annual hairdressing competition for Level 2 students held by their employer, local hair salon Zappas.

Money matters

 

If you're 16-18 on 1 September 2011, all our courses for you are free. You'll pay £30 on enrolment day to cover the cost of course materials.

 

As a student, there are lots of ways to help cover the costs of coming to college.

 

Guaranteed bursary

If you are 16-19 and in care, are a care leaver or getting income support you could get a £1200 bursary. This will be linked to your attendance and behaviour, similar to how EMA worked.

 

College bursary

If your household income is below £21,000 per year we can offer financial assistance for course related costs including books and equipment, travel and meals.

 

Discount bus pass

You may be entitled to a free discount bus pass that allows you to travel over the ‘First Bus’ network at the reduced child’s fare. If you are not entitled to a free pass you can buy a discount pass for £90 per year.

 

Childcare support

You could be eligible for childcare payments to help you study. These can be used at our own nursery or other local providers.
