Student
Association
Everyone deserves a great time at college - the Student
Association makes it happen.
The new SA President,
Kayleigh Galvin, talks about what it means to
take part in college life.
What's the Student
Association?
"We're here to improve college, and keep its great
atmosphere. We listen to the students' views and
work to make the right changes with people
like Student services.
"We also run great events and fundraisers,
like RAG Week."
What does it mean to students?
"The Student Association is really important,
because it gives students something different to do at college.
They can focus on something other than studying, and
release their stress!
"My job as President is to listen, and to organise everyone
so we get as much done as we can."
What does it mean to you?
"Without the SA, there would be no voice for
students, which would be bad for the atmosphere here.
"I'm hoping to start more clubs and societies, like you have at
university. People can email me if they want
to start a club, no matter how silly it is, and
I'll help them get started!"
Kayleigh is in the second year of
her BTEC National Diploma in Media and plans to study
Media Arts at university.
