The Capitol Building,
Bracknell
The Bracknell Forest Careers Event is a fantastic opportunity
for the borough’s young people and their parents and carers to get
the best possible information about education, training and
employment prospects for the years ahead.
An evening session between 5pm and 8pm will be open to
younger students, their parents and carers or to anyone who may
have already left education and needs help with getting into work
or training. You can also get advice on how to put together a
stand-out CV and polish up interview techniques. The college will
be doing demonstrations and practical sessions allowing you to try
many subjects for yourself.
Hair & Beauty
In Hairdressing, learn how to do a ‘fishtail plait’ and some
‘spiral tonging’ on dolly heads, or maybe try your own style! In
Beauty, learn how to do a hand massage or manicure.
Electrical Installation
See a
practical demonstration of electrial installation using workboards
and run through the inspection and test equipment.
Childcare and Health & Social
Care
Look after virtual reality babies and wear an
empathy belly to get a real insight.
Uniformed Public Services
Check out
some of the equipment their UPS students are trained to use
and chat to them whilst they help with security during the day and
evening.
Travel & Tourism
Get a safety
briefing from their Cabin Crew and try on the life
jackets.
Media
Become a newsreader for the
day! Try your hand at reading an autocue whilst being
filmed.
Photography
Have your photograph
taken, or have a go at taking a portrait photo using the latest
equipment.
Everyone is welcome to attend and make the most of this
outstanding opportunity.
The Bracknell Forest
Careers Event website has more details and a registration form
for the evening session.
