It’s official: we help our students get better grades
We are in the top 5% of all schools and
colleges nationwide, and the best college in the Thames
Valley, Hampshire and Surrey according to recent
Contextual Value-Added (CVA) league tables published by the
Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
The college’s score of 1039.4, a 21-point increase on last year,
means that our average student will earn well over a full A
Level grade higher than might be expected from their
achievements in earlier qualifications.
CVA compares 16-19 year olds’ actual grades for Level 3 with
their expected Level 3 grades. Level 3 qualifications include A
Levels and BTEC National Diplomas.
A student’s expected grade is based mainly on their Level 2
achievements – including GCSEs and BTEC First Diplomas.
James Taylor, the college’s Director of Quality &
Standards, said:
“This is a fantastic achievement for the
college and is the proof of the hard work that all
our staff and students have put in over the last year.
“These results show that coming to Bracknell & Wokingham
College gives its students the chance not only to match, but
clearly surpass the expectations they arrive here
with.”
Come to our next Open
event on 6 February, from 10am-3pm, to find out how to join us
in September 2010.
