Achiever Awards 2012
We celebrated the achievements of our students
at our seventh annual Achiever Awards, the first to be held in our
very own, iconic building. The Achiever Awards are given to students
because of their outstanding effort and passion for their course.
As well as high achieving academic students, the awards also
celebrate those who have overcome adversity to excel in their
particular course area.
Sharron Davies was an
inspirational speaker and guest of honour at our Achiever Awards
this year. Sharron is the ultimate Olympian. She has attended nine
Olympic Games – three as an athlete and six as a broadcaster, and
has unparalleled experience over the past 35 years as a competitor
and broadcaster.

Sharron had brought along the Olympic torch
that she recently carried as well as a gold medal to the excitement
of all of those who attended who queued up afterwards to have their
photo taken.
Guests were greeted in our airy Star Café by our
Hospitality students with bucks fizz and tasty
canapés that they had created. Our Performing Arts students
strummed a musical accompaniment.

The ceremony followed in our Sports Hall. The Awards feature our
talented Performing Arts students singing and
dancing.
