Courses for learners with SEND

Our courses are for 16-24 year olds with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Aspirations

Preparation for college (1 year)

This is a flexible study programme for learners who need to develop independence and confidence before they move on to other courses in college. They may have done GCSEs, ASDAN or BTEC at school and had help from learning support. They are likely to have an EHCP.

All learners study a vocational subject, maths, English, work skills and life skills and do work experience.

Learners are expected to stay on this programme for one year. This will be reviewed in the summer term.

 

Ambitions

Preparation for work and independence (up to 3 years)

This is a flexible study programme for learners with support needs. They may have gone to a mainstream or special school. They will have an EHCP

All learners study a vocational subject, maths, English, work skills and life skills and do work experience When they leave they may  move on to a supported internship, supported employment/ employment and/or supported/independent living.

Learners usually stay on this programme for two or three years. This will be reviewed every year.
