Not entirely sure what you want to study or what direction you’d like your career to go in? Why not explore the options open to you with a course that will allow you to have a taste of different course subjects to see what best suits you.

You could try your hand at business, motor vehicle maintenance, childcare, photography and many more; allowing you to widen your knowledge and skills and help you to make a more informed decision for your future studies and career.

As well as getting the chance to try out different course subjects, you’ll gain skills, experience and confidence as you proceed and develop through the course; helping to get you ready for your next step.


Preparation for college
(1 year)

This is a flexible study programme to help you develop independence and confidence before you move on to other courses in college. You may have done GCSEs, ASDAN or BTEC at school and had help from learning support. You are likely to have an EHCP.

You will study a vocational subject, maths, English, work skills and life skills and do work experience. You will be in college four days a week, from 9am-3pm.

You are expected to stay on this programme for one year. This will be reviewed in the summer term.
