Whether you’re a jobseeker who is out of work and has been for a long time, are being made redundant, or just want to update your skills for your CV, we can help anyone who is looking for a job.

Looking for career advice? Let us point you in the right direction.

We offer the following five-day courses in which, people who have worked in any of the relevant areas, can get a qualification and a CV review – giving you the best chance of getting a job:

  • Customer service (Level 2)
  • Team leading (Level 2)
  • Management (Level 3)
  • IT (Level 1 and Level 2)

At Bracknell & Wokingham College, we can also help you if you need advice on any of the following:

  • Setting up your own business; including principles of sales & marketing, tax/payroll/financial information, workplace health & safety, using IT in your business
  • Creating presentations using PowerPoint for interviews
  • Assertiveness and self-confidence to help apply for jobs and at interviews

I’m not currently working

We know how being out of employment for a while can knock your confidence and self-esteem; but we also know that learning a new skill and gaining a qualification not only looks good on your CV but also helps to combat those negative feelings by:

  • Getting you up and out - a purpose
  • Keeping your mind active
  • Giving you reachable goals
  • Meeting new people in new situations
  • Giving you back your self-confidence as you realise you can do it!

You can get full funding too for your learning if you are not employed and need training in order to improve your chances of getting a job AND are:

  • On Jobseeker Allowance (JSA) – including JSA National Insurance Credit only
  • On Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Regulated Activity Group (WRAG)
  • In receipt of other state benefit

You will need to produce recent evidence of benefit – a letter from Jobcentre Plus or Award Notice or complete a self-declaration form. Please note JCP40 is not acceptable. We will return your documents once you are enrolled.

This means you can get updated or new skills for FREE to help you find a job.

So you could:

  • Update your computer skills
  • Get started with computers
  • Get a qualification in Maths and English
