Jobseekers

We know how being out of employment for a while can knock your confidence and self-esteem; but we also know that learning a new skill and gaining a qualification not only looks good on your CV but also helps to combat those negative feelings by:

  • Getting you up and out - a purpose
  • Keeping your mind active
  • Giving you reachable goals
  • Meeting new people in new situations
  • Giving you back your self-confidence as you realise you can do it!

 CV

Whether you’re a jobseeker who is out of work, being made redundant, or just want to update your skills for your CV, we can help.

We provide support with either creating or updating your CV to help support applications for employment and/or Apprenticeships.

These sessions are allocated on an individual basis for approximately 1-1½ hours, and are free of charge. Those who have already taken up this workshop have expressed how useful the session was.

During these sessions you will have the opportunity to speak to a member of staff to gain ‘employment/apprenticeship guidance’ to identify employment/training requirements.

Pre-Apprenticeship Programme

We are currently offering a short, four-session course, which will either take place over 4 days, during 1 week or 1 day a week for four weeks, depending on interest and requirements. This course will provide you with an accredited qualification, Pearson BTEC Level 1 Award in Workskills, which will further enhance CVs, and develop interview techniques, improving success in gaining an apprenticeship with an employer or to secure employment.

ALL sessions must be attended to gain the valuable qualification.

Group size for this programme will be restricted to 10-12 to ensure everyone feels comfortable within their environment.

The sessions will only be booked and go ahead if enough interest is generated.

You can gain full funding for your learning if you are not employed and need training in order to improve your chances of getting a job AND are in receipt of a benefit such as:

  • Jobseeker Allowance (JSA)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • In receipt of other relevant state benefit

You will need to produce recent evidence of benefit.
