How Apprenticeships work?

  • Apprenticeships take between one and four years dependant on the qualification and level.
  • Ideally you should be working for at least 30 hours a week however if you are working less than this, please contact us to discuss.
  • Dependant on qualification, you may be required to attend regular college sessions.
  • Age is no barrier.
  • Your existing skills and knowledge are recognised and can help you gain a qualification faster
  • In some subjects we use an e-portfolio so all your work is available online
  • Apprenticeships include: knowledge and competency based elements, transferable and functional skills, and learning about employment rights and responsibilities
  • You have rights as an apprentice and employee, and will receive the same company benefits as other employees
  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is the organisation that manages applications to UK university courses and you need a certain amount of UCAS points to be eligible to study on a degree course.

Apprentices can receive discounts from over 120 high street and online retailers with the NUS Apprentice extra card.
