The college route offers your child a variety of paths for their future. And helping them to understand those avenues needn't be a mystery.
Here we look to help you follow what the different course varieties mean for your youngsters future.
Students choose up to four A Levels from the 19 we offer. The majority of study is classroom based, with reading, research and essay writing completed as homework. A Levels are two-year, full-time study programmes with exams at the end of each year. After A Levels your youngster can choose to study at university or go straight into work.
BTECs and C&G courses are perfect for learning practical skills. They prepare the student for a career in a specific industry and give a well-recognised qualification - often without the need for formal exams. Students study over one or two years in one of the 21 BTEC and C&G subjects we offer. Students start at the level best suited to their GCSE results. After BTECs or C&Gs your youngster can also choose to study at university or go straight into work.
Did you know many of our BTEC courses can be mixed and matched with an A Level - giving your youngster the best of both worlds; providing an option that just doesn't exist in sixth form.
