Student Services

We want each student to enjoy an equal chance to learn and develop during their time at Bracknell & Wokingham College. Our Respect Agenda prepares students for the wider world by promoting community values in the classroom.

You decide!

Each new class will write a respect contract together. It's your chance to choose what's right and wrong for your learning.

We ask:

  • How do you want your teacher to speak to you?
  • How do you want your classmates to treat you?
  • What can you do to get their respect?

Equality & Diversity

In all aspects of its activities the college will promote equality of opportunity and oppose discrimination on any grounds. Our Single Equality Scheme details how we are committed to creating an environment of mutual respect.

It is everybody’s right and everybody’s responsibility to uphold our policy and to celebrate equality and diversity in all activities. Read our equal opportunities statement.
Students learn better together; help us to give you the best education we can.

Safeguarding

Your safety and welfare is important to us and we want you to feel safe while  at college.

All suspicion and allegations of abuse will be taken  seriously and responded to swiftly and
appropriately. The college has links with local statutory services  and the Student Services
Manager is a member of the Local  Children’s Safeguarding Board.

You can talk to your  tutor, Student Services  or one of our four Designated Safeguarding Officers if you have concerns yourself or about someone else.

You will find out more about Safeguarding in the Tutorial programme when you join us.

Id Cards

Safeguarding, keeping you safe while at college, is a key responsibility. To make sure you stay safe while you study, we issue all our Church Road students with ID cards.

It is important that you carry your ID card whenever you come to college. We cannot let you through our security barriers without it. If you forget your card, you can:
1. Obtain a temporary day pass for a £2 charge
2. Purchase a replacement card for a £10 charge

Your ID card also acts as your Learning Resource Centre (LRC) membership card.

Care of your card

Please do not bend or punch any holes in the card as it will stop working.

Keep the card away from other systems that generate radiation such as mobile phones. These cards can run down the battery in some electronic devices.
