Working with partners including Bracknell Forest Council, Adviza (previously known as Connexions), Job Centre Plus, Bracknell & Wokingham College, Learning to Work, Nacro and the National Career Service, Elevate aims to address the skills gaps and unemployment of 16-24 year olds and support businesses to achieve their full potential.
The Elevate hub, which is currently operating from the old Connexions centre in Charles Square, provides careers information, advice and guidance and support for young people in a new one-stop-shop.
Young people can drop in for help finding the right training, apprenticeships or work placements, writing CVs and preparing for interviews.
Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said: “The initial response to Elevate Bracknell Forest has been fantastic. We’re delighted with the number of young people who have already signed up, and we look forward to welcoming many more young people to the hub.”
There is also a website, Elevate Me, which is available 24/7 and complements the services provided in the hub.
Information on the website can be accessed freely, but by signing up every young person can build their own individual city by building floors and going on their own journey towards education, employment, work experience, volunteering and many other opportunities.
Keep up to date with everything going on in the college.
