College awarded 'Good' status by Ofsted
We were delighted to be awarded
a Grade 2, ‘Good’ status by Ofsted after an intense, week-long
inspection in November 2013.
The Inspectors were particularly impressed
with the ‘focus on making learning relevant to employment
practices’ with students improving their ‘broader
skills’ as well as gaining qualifications. Most students
progress to further training at higher levels with the college or
into employment and few are unemployed after leaving college.
The report noted a ‘three year trend
of steady improvement’ and that students do better at the
college ‘than might be anticipated from their previous

higher than might be expected from their achievements in
Our BTEC learners achieve around half a grade higher.

go on to study in Higher Education, and over a
third go into employment.
